Lakeside Psychology services offers treatment interventions to assist with your well-being. We conduct assessments to determine a specific diagnosis as well as pinpoint other difficulties you may be experiencing. Our psychologist, clinicians and child and youth counsellor provide assistance from either a team or individual approach.
Dr. Carrie Heilbron, Ph.D., C.Psych. is a registered psychologist with areas of competency in Rehabilitation, Clinical, and Counselling Psychology, as designated by the College of Psychologists of Ontario (Certificate #4397). Her assessment focus has been in the areas of psychological, psycho-vocational, substance abuse, disability, and fitness to work.
Her treatment focus includes cognitive behavioural therapy, cognitive processing therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, and mindfulness interventions for depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, substance use disorder, and interpersonal functioning difficulties. Her range of experiences includes coordinating rehabilitation teams for individuals affected by brain injuries, managing university counselling services, assisting in returning clients affected by mental health back to work.
Dr. Heilbron is Chief Psychologist, Rehabilitation and Clinical Services, March of Dimes Canada. March of Dimes Canada is a non-profit organization that provides community-based rehabilitation services and resources across the country to people with physical and mental health disabilities.
Bert Timothy has been a Child and Youth Worker for over 30 years. He specializes in residential care treatment, youth justice integration, mental health services, family therapy, crisis response, therapeutic interventions for youth at risk. His mission is to provide care, guidance and support for children and youth. His intervention approach includes a strength-based, hands on approach, that is designed to meet the needs of the child and youth. Over the years, he has continued to utilize non-conventional methods with optimal results. He has worked with diverse populations, where he diligently integrates children and youth back into the community. Mr.Timothy teaches life skills, and mentors, counsels, advocates and works as a liaison between the child/youth and their school, family, health care providers, and the community. He has specialized training in Non-Crisis Intervention strategies, and has been an instructor for over fifteen years. Mr. Timothy is also certified in ASIST Suicide Prevention.
